The software is designed automate and simplify capturing, storing and reporting of required firearm transaction. The Gun Control Act of 1968 requires that federal firearms licensees maintain a "bound" book of firearm transactions.

The software is designed to streamline transaction entry, reduce non-compliance risk, and quickly generate reports for inspections or inquiries by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. A browser-based system, the compliance manager can be accessed from virtually any device with an Internet connection. The software features integrated best-practice workflows and internal control with on-screen guided assistance and tutorials stepping users through every task. The kiosk feature enables customers to enter their own ATF Form e4473 on any browser-enabled device. The system then queues up information for the background check and transfer. Once transactions are completed, they are immediately available for queries, reports and inventory checks. The system incorporates tools and notifications that allow FFLs to closely monitor ATF compliance and a "one-click" self-audit tool quickly packaging selected data required by ATF agents. ATF compliance reports can be run on demand and users can review bound book activity quickly and easily via dashboards and there is a built-in Inventory Reconciliation Report. Epicor FFL Compliance Manager can operate as a standalone product or integrate with the Epicor Eagle retail business management system.
