Nancy Harris, Sage North AmericaSage has introduced version 17.1 of Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate. The company describes the new release as a re-architecting of the application. The new edition provides access to information via Mobile Projects, which debuted at the same time.

Other enhancements include the ability to design and create SQL reports. Sage says it will later offer multiple mobile services, a new web-based user interface and a SQL database back-end for the product. "Our 2017 Construction Hiring and Business Outlook reveals that 44 percent of contractors use or plan to use cloud-based software in the near future," Nancy Harris, managing director of Sage North America, said in a prepared statement, She noted Mobile Projects is the first of several SaaS releases planned. Features of the mobile app include Daily Field Reports and Request for Information with capabilities such as submittals, commitments, and change orders scheduled for release over the next year. Users of 17.1 can query a SQL database and also feature automatic data backup and easy database maintenance and administration.
