MICROSOFT TO OFFER ENTERPRISE ASSET MANAGEMENT Featured

Muhammad Alan, MicrosoftMicrosoft will offer enterprise asset management within Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations. The company said this week it has acquired rights to Dynaway’s Enterprise Asset Management, which will be available natively within the Dynamics product.

“With this IP acquisition, our plan is to launch an AI-enhanced, transformative EAM solution by bringing together the best of what Microsoft provides in Dynamics 365, Power Apps, Power BI, IoT, MR applications, and machine learning," product manager Muhammad Alan, wrote in a blog post this week. It’s the latest in a series of IP buys to add capabilities to the Dynamics application Features for the new element include asset tracking; tracking, managing, and monitoring the maintenance needs of an asset based on the manufacturer’s recommendations; work order management and scheduling;  integrated planning; spare parts tracking; and KPIs. Alan noted other IP acquisitions this year which are to be worked into 365 FO. These are Revenue Recognition Management from Armanino, Enterprise Credit Management from Sable37 (now part of DXC Technologies), Advanced Warehouse and Transportation Management Capabilities from Blue Horseshoe;  Tyler Insight Extensions from Tyler Technologies; and Catch Weight from Blue Horseshoe and Fullscope.
