SAGE OFFERS MEDIA GUIDE Featured

Steve Kelly, SageSage has published a media guide to prep its channel members in a document that also shows its channel events are closed to the media. I suppose other companies provide media guides, but this is the one I happen to have. The trend continues that Sage is largely focused on providing information about its celebrity speakers: Richard Branson, Zoey Deschannel, Gwyneth Paltrow and Robert Herjavec, who will be a panel on the impact of cloud computing.

Oh they won't? The point is, as with last year, there has been no attempt to let the media know what issues of substances might be coming up. It would be easy to have briefings and place the press who non-disclosure agreements or let out bits of items that would make news stories that would help the company promote the show. That hasn't happened. It's interesting that the only figures on attendance came this week in a tweet from CEO Steve Kelly who said 15,000 are registered onsite and 15,000 remotely. I believe that a press release coming out at the same time on the same subject would have been in the company's interest. Sage has a lot of new executives and products. I would have thought there would have been some benefit to arranging well-timed interviews to promote these. Apparently, the company doesn't think this way.
