COLUMBUS PROMOTES BMI FOUNDER Featured

John Hendrickson, Interdyn BMIColumbus has promoted John Hendrickson, the head of Interdyn BMI to the position of SVP of business transformation. And apparently BMI will finally be integrated with the other Columbus reselling operations in this country. Columbus purchased BMI in 2015 and the Minneapolis, Minn.-area reseller has played an important role in turning around the performance of Denmark-based Columbus in the United States.

Keld Jersild Olsen, who has headed Columbus US, is taking over leadership of BMI. The new organization is effective on April 1. The official announcement says Olsen will head a unit with more than 300 employees. Bob Scott's Top 100 VARs for 2016 estimated Columbus US had $43 million annual sales, placing it at No 10. IntenDyn BMI reported it $38.5 million, meaning it ranked No. 14. Combined, the total would have placed it about No. 5 on the list. Earlier this year, Columbus acquired Tridea Partners, which had $5.5 million in revenue for 2013, the only time it completed its Top 100 form. I'm told Tridea partners have a two-year, buyout and will likely remain separate for that time. BMI carries the Dynamics line. It had also sold Intacct, but dropped that product as Microsoft rolled out its cloud based Dynamics 365. Hendrickson founded his company in 1985 as Business Microvar. The VAR also separately sold Open Systems software.
