INTUIT BUYS SALES TAX COMPANY Featured

Jonathan Barsade, ExactorIntuit has agreed to buy Exactor, which makes cloud-based sales-and-use tax software. Exactor will be integrated into QuickBooks Online to serve retail customers. Terms were not disclosed.

Intuit said the purchased company would help it grow worldwide—Exactor has a Value Added Tax Compliance Module. Intuit plans to integrate Exactors products QuickBooks Online. The Exactor line is more on the low end than offerings from a company like Avalara. Exactor already integrates with financial products such as Dynamics AX, GP and NAV; Sage 50, 100, 300 and 500, and NetSuite; ecommerce platforms including Magento; payment gateways such as PayPal; and app for the iOS and Android mobile devices. The company was founded by its CEO Jonathan Barsade. Exactor products perform the full range of capabilities needed in sales-and-use tax products, including determining, preparing and filing of returns, tracking and managing sales tax exemption certificates. Interesting in that during the time this item was being written the Exactor website change from one with easy to find detail to a slicker looking page where things were a pain to find and detail about products had vanished.
