VIEWPOINT ADDS $50.3M TO TRIMBLE 3Q Featured

CraneViewpoint contributed $50.3 million in revenue to totals for Trimble for the third quarter ended September 30. In its Form 10-Q, filed this month, Trimble also reported that e-Bulider added $65.9 million to the top line.

Trimble purchased Viewpoint in July and e-builder in February. Combined, the acquisitions of the construction software companies contributed $116.2 million to Trimble’s revenue, 14.6 percent of the quarterly total. Together the two comprised 39.3 percent of the $295.8 million in the quarter for Trimble’s building and infrastructure segment, making that the company’s largest business area. The other segments are geospatial, resources and utilities, and transportation. B&I contributed operating income of $68.3 million, 35.7 percent of total operating income of $191.3 million. In terms of operating margin, the segment is the third best at 23.8 percent, behind 28.6 percent for resources and utilities and 25.6 percent for geospatial. Overall, Trimble reported net income of $73.7 million for the most recently ended quarter, an increase of 28.8 percent from $57.2 million a year earlier. Revenue of $795.2 million represented a rise of 17.6 percent from $676.2 million in last year’s corresponding period.
