LAWSON RECRUITING VARS

Over the years, Lawson Software’s name has come up as toying with the VAR market.  It has a channel program, but its resellers are overseas, not in the United States and most members are higher-end than the typical midmarket VAR. But it’s on the prowl. At least, Paradigm Analytics was prepared to sign a reselling agreement today.

With Lawson having big presence in manufacturing, it’s possible that the void being left by Exact, which has admitted it is losing customers in many areas, is helping open up the market. I’ve presume that’s one reason Syspro has been picking up good dealers during the last year. Lawson is also expanding its sales force. In January’s earnings call, the company said it would add experienced reps and also junior-level account executives. Executives did not reveal how many were being added but said there would be in “the 200 A.E. range” by the end of the fiscal year on May 31.
