SUGARCRM NAMES CFO Featured

SugarCRM has named John Donaldson as CFO, the latest in a number of executive changes this year. Donaldson replaces Karan Willem who held the post who held the job from January 2017 through this month.

Donaldson is the third CFO in the last four years. The other was Steve Valenzuela, who served in the financial position from January 2015 through November 2016. Recent events were somewhat set into motion by moves by two executives who changed jobs. Larry Augustin, CEO for 10 years, became Sugar’s chairman in February and also took a position as VP with Amazon Web Services in July.  He was replaced by Craig Charlton. The company hired Melissa Sargeant as chief marketing officer in December when co-founder Clint Oram moved from that role  and became chief strategy officer and head of corporate development. Shawna Sweeney, a five-year SugarCRM veteran, became VP of people and places in June replacing Sherry Pulvers, who moved to a similarly titled job at Aurora. Valenzuela was one of three executives who promoted early in 2015. The other two were Remy Malan, the first chief customer officer, who held that spot from February 2015 through March 2017 and Fred Gewant, VP of worldwide sales from March 2015 through September 2016 before leaving for Adaptive Insights. The latest hire, Donaldson, was CFO of together work from 2017 through 2018 and was CFO of Community Investors in 2015 and 2016.
