The Sage Group has confirmed it is discussing options for Sage Pay. That includes a possible sale of the payments unit, the software company said this week.

Sage made the announcement following media speculation about its plans for Sage Pay. In a prepared statement, the compan confirmed it “is evaluating potential strategic options for this business, including a sale.” If accomplished, this would mark a complete retreat for Sage from the payments business, which is a very small part of its operations. It sold its North American payments business, now known as Paya, to private equity firm, GTCR, in July 2017 for $260 million.
