ORACLE TARGETS LAWSON Featured

Oracle is going head on against Lawson, apparently seeing the Infor-owed product as vulnerable. “We are picking on Lawson,” Oracle chairmain Larry Ellison said during last week’s webcast for the company’s earnings for the first quarter ended August 31.

Oracle has established health-care sales territories that are co-extensive with Lawson’s health-care territories. It has also “raided” Lawson healthcare territories. Ellison reported a high-level of success. “We have rolled up about one third of their customers in our pipeline," Ellison said. “We expect to win all of them.” More usual was his slap at SAP, which he said “does not really have a true cloud system. Oracle is seeing interest from SAP customers, Ellison continued, “Now we are seeing some of their medium large companies go ahead and pick us and we are converting them,”  Ellison said. “We are in conversation with SAP’s very largest customers.
