CONVERGENCE: ODD MICROSOFT STEPS

Forget about the fact that a number of Dynamics resellers felt short-changed on the announcements about cloud products made at this week’s Convergence user conference. Microsoft continues to have odd, if not conflicted behavior in dealing with its channel. The company used to hold a partner day before the start of the user conference. Since that isn’t held anymore, it offered the VARs a reception on Saturday night, billed as an opportunity to meet Microsoft executives.

The resellers showed. Executives did not. In fact, there were only two Microsoft employees present, neither of them very high-level. The resellers spent the evening talking to each other before several headed to the annual Randy & Andy Convergence Bash, hosted by Randy Forkner of Collins Consulting and Andy Vabulas of Ibis.
