SAGE OPENED UP TRAINING Featured

Sage has made training for its partners free during the coronavirus crisis. “We launched it to our partners two weeks ago,” Nancy Teixeira, Sage’s VP of North American strategy and sales, said this week.

She noted the program’s suggestion came from a VAR who said, “It would be great if you opened up training free of charge. While my folks are sitting around they could get smarter,” she related. Sage is doing on a broad scale what many organizations are doing individually. Interviews for Bob Scott’s Top 100 VARs 2020 found training is one area in which organizations are putting their efforts when there are lulls in the business. Taylor Macdonald, VP of channel sales for Sage Intacct, noted that the company has been provided resources such as webinars “that organizations can piggy back on their websites”, which gives them access to higher-quality speakers than they normally could obtain. Sage executives are also staying in closer touch with the channel and clients, Teixeira says. “People are looking to us for direction,” she says. Not surprisingly, the crisis has shown the value of cloud applications, the two executives say. “I can’t tell you the numbers of calls, thank goodness I am on Sage Intacct and we are running the business remotely,” Macdonald says.
