Shy’s involvement with NFP software went back to Sage when she became a trainer with that company’s former Millennium software in March 2002. The nonprofit operations spun out of Sage in May 2013 and became the former Abila. Shy moved with the change and was an executive there until Abila was acquired by Community Brands in May 2017. At that company, her last job was as director, nonprofit and associations division. MIP took on the Abila name but the historic MIP name was restored under Community Brands.
