SAP, MICROSOFT BOOST CONNECTIONS

SAP logoSAP and Microsoft have announced plans to improve integration between SAP software and Microsoft virtualization and cloud computing technologies. That included making SAP's making its software "more easily consumed and extended by .NET developers, simplifying the overall application development process." That is supposed to result in shorter development cycles, lower costs and openness into applications.
The two companies also plan to integrate the upcoming "landscape management software from SAP, Microsoft System Center and Microsoft Windows Server Hyper-V technology" which is supposed to make it easier to manage cloud applications and deployments. Among the tools are Duet Enterprise software, a joint product for SAP applications and SharePoint Development, Microsoft and SAP also plan to interconnect development platforms, a plan that includes using software development accelerators to enable connectivity between the development platforms, integrating Microsoft development tools with the business functionality of SAP solutions across a variety of application models and scenarios. (Is there a tech translator in the crowd). That goal is also to provide access to SAP applications for .Net developers who use SAP's NetWeaver Gateway technology so they do not need specialized knowledge of SAP business software. Tools include Visual Studio integration and some a new SDKs that have a bunch of long names.
