SAGE: ACCPAC WEB CLIENT THIS YEAR
Sage has published a development roadmap for Accpac, and given the way this stuff generally makes its way around the channel, I'm one of the last to know. But the plan calls for the release of a web client for financial and operatinal modules in the fourth quarter, along with mobile support and expanded virtual platforms. That's in Version 6.1.
With next year's Version 6.2, the product gets approval workflows, payroll web, User Management, the Customizer and the Sage Advisor. A Q3 release of Sage SalesTax is also planned, which is powered by Avalara's AvaTax. This is a 76-page document that just hit my desk and as I'm leaving on vacation in four hours, this is a bit of a speed read. Sage CRM for iPhone and Twitter is also on the list and the system has an interactive dashboard. Given the desire by Pascal Houiloon, CEO of Sage North America, to have more front-office products - read business intelligence to tap into ERP - we're going to be seeing a lot more of the word dashboad.
