SAGE TAKING ADVISOR GLOBAL

One of the more interesting items in the Sage MAS roadmap is Sage Advisor, which essentially pushes help at the user.  It was invented by the Peachtree folks, who won a Sage award for their contribution, and is going to be brought into all of Sage’s financial applications. This isn’t all happening tomorrow as Advisor is on the MAS 90 and 200 road map for 2013.

But according to Erik Kass, senior director of product management, Advisor informs users of better ways to run the software. “If somebody is always running a certain report and always customize it, we can advise, 'Why not use another report?'” he says. The system should pay off by giving users quicker and better help and by cutting down on support calls and Kass says it has been very successful in addressing support issues. Advisor also collects performance information, sort of a software black box, and reports that to Sage. Kass notes that the data is reported “anonymously. It’s really more of a best practices kind of thing. Sage doesn’t collect user information or anything proprietary."
