SAGE'S SCHULTZ LEAVING

Laurie SchultzAfter a paragraph describing his pleasure in meeting channel members at least week's Summit Conference, Pascal Houillon, CEO of Sage North America, wished Laurie Schultz luck in an organizational announcement.

And he thanked her for her contributions as EVP and general manager of the Midmarket ERP Business Unit. She is leaving effective July 31. Houillon says he will handle the job's duties until a replacement can be found. The new CEO has done a lot in a short time and he does it with a great deal of charm. Schultz's roots are in the Accpac organization and I will say that she wasn't always the resellers' favorite person. But who is when you're dealing with a vendor? Houillon credited her with establishing the product strategy and road map and streamlining her business unit and also with helping restore the company to growth. The challenge for Sage is outlined in the Microsoft item in this newsletter. With Dynamics posting 19 percent revenue growth in the June quarter, I have my doubts that Sage reached that range. We won't know any details until the company reports its year, which ends on September 30. But the last Sage numbers didn't look that good.
