EPARTNERS SELLS U.K. OPS

ePartners logoEPartners has sold its operations in the United Kingdom to eBecs Ltd., another Dynamics reseller based in that country. It's interesting from two points: the simple news of the event and the fact that ePartners and Tectura, the other major U.S.-based Dynamics VAR, have gone from acquiring operations (well not recently) to disposing of them in the same year.

The press release described eBecs as a "specialist in the design and delivery of solutions for manufacturing, distribution and professional services." It was reported that the resulting larger eBecs will have more than 120 Microsoft professionals. The Tectura parallel stems from the February 28 sale of that company's 51 percent in Tectura GmbH, Berlin, which got the American company out the driver's seat in most of Germany. Tectura Berlin had a majority ownership in Tectura Dresden. Those companies were supposed to change their names earlier this month. ePartners (originally called TexSys RD), followed by Tectura became in their turn the largest midmarket resellers. But both stalled out and this is probably a warning lesson for anyone with ambitions to grow large.
