SAP also says that 80 percent of the ByD business is coming through the channel while it is selling demand by larger customers, which raises the average number of users per installation. The software giant does not break out revenue numbers for the ByD product line. But overall, SAP is on a roll with the quarter just ended reported as its best third quarter in its history. After-tax profit for the quarter was $1.78 billion, a 150-percent increase from last year's corresponding period. Revenue for the third quarter was $4.86 billion, up 14 percent from a year earlier. Software revenue for the most recent period of about $1.2 billion was 28-percent higher than in last year's corresponding period.. While business was strong along all lines, the company pointed to particular successes in its line-of-business applications. Hagemann-Snabe said quarter revenue from the sale of these applications doubled year over year. Even hotter is the revenue from SAP's HANA in-memory computing platform. SAP expects revenue from that line to top 100 million euros this year. It became generally available in June.
