INTUIT DROPS RESELLER FEE

Jerry Robinson

Intuit has eliminated a $1,000 annual fee for members of its Intuit Solutions Provider program. A spokesperson said that the decision "is consistent with Intuit’s practice of constantly reviewing and evaluating the right program requirements and benefits to meet the needs of the company’s customers, solution providers". That seems to have been the biggest news out of the Intuit Solution Provider Summit 2011, which was held October 9 through 12.

The company also gave out four national awards and I had to ask to get that news. Not really an encouraging sign of support for its channel. The four winners have one thing in common--they are purely Intuit houses that do not sell mid-market accounting software other than QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions. All four also sell QB Point of Sale, which suggests the QBES and POS channels have a lot more members in common than when this program started. And none of these are traditional VARs.  The winners start with Robinson Financial Group of Franklin, Tenn., led by CPAs and QB ProAdvisors Jerry Robinson and Patrick Robinson, which was named Partner of the Year. The Wren Group of Loganville, Ga., was Rookie of the Year.  Ability Business Computing of North Canton, Ohio, won the ISP Value Add Award.  Tavares, Fla.-based Enix & Associates took home the Ambassador Award. Enix also operates Enix/Mendelson in partnership with Mendelson Consulting.
