MAINTENANCE-INDUCTED OUTAGE HITS INTUIT AGAIN

Unplugged artIntuit had another web outage due this week. On its Intuit Proline Facebook page, the company reported on Thursday that "We're sorry to report that due to our planned maintenance last night, some of our web pages are still unavailable." By my count, this is the third time in about 18 months that maintenance has knocked something off line. I must have gotten in on the tail end of this because yesterday I tried to reach www.intuit.com and got a message that the page was not available with the headline "It's not you, it's us."

The page was up when I tried a few moments later, and not seeing posts on the blog, I thought it was a blip. But messages on the blog went up later promising to get the pages back up as soon as possible. These included the ProAdvisor Member Website, QuickBooks, Payroll, Productivity Tools accounting product pages and the Find-a-ProAdvisor search page. Intuit needs to buy a copy of "Maintenance for Dummies". To look at it another way, either Intuit is having more problems in this area than other companies or it simply is more open in posting these to blogs.
