However, revenue rose to $37.2 million for the most recently ended quarter. That was helped along by about $900,000 in revenue from Detroit-area FirstTech Direct, which Columbus purchased in early March. The numbers were released as part of an interim management statement that did not provide more detailed numbers. Columbus maintained its forecast of EBITDA of about $8.8 million and revenue of $159 million for 2012. The 2011 revenue was about $145 million, based on current values of the Danish krone. The company also announced the appointment of Niels Stenfeldt as new managing director of Columbus Denmark. He replaced Stan Hagengaard who left after 19 years. That is the gist of the press release which was issued only in Danish and although a web-based translation service, Babylon, gave some weird readings, this seems reasonable.

COLUMBUS 1Q EBITDA DROPS
Columbus, formerly known as Columbus IT Partner, saw a 20-percent drop in EBITDA on a 10.6-percent increase in revenue for the first quarter ended March 30. The Copenhagen-based Dynamics reseller had EBITDA of about $619,000. The company blamed a revenue mix with more lower-margin items and "project challenges in the Nordic region" for the earnings fall off.
