PARADIGM SPAWNS CLOUD GROUP

Long-time Epicor reseller Paradigm Analytics has split, with one part jettisoning most desktop applications in favor of selling Acumatica. The Denver, Colo.-based company is splitting into Paradigm Cloud ERP with the remaining company still called Paradigm Analytics which will focus on performance management. Neither group will continue reselling Epicor.

And with that vendor having just acquired its top VAR, that's another drop in troops in the Epicor channel army. "The services piece of Epicor will be going away as well, so the only association we'll have with Epicor products is hosting," says Brad Bertchie of Paradigm Cloud. Bertchie's group is selling and hosting both Acumatica's on-premise version of its application as well as the SaaS version. Paradigm Analytics was formed in 2001. Somehow, I can't imagine the Epicor channel feeling very comfortable at the moment, which is interesting since it was not that long ago that those who had signed to carry Epicor 9 were very happy. The company changed channel leaders when Patrick Coulbourne left in January. He was replaced in March by Matthew Bauer, who is running the U.S. channel, but that is looking like it will become a smaller job.
