BRICKLIN KEYNOTING BIZNET CONFAB

Dan Bricklin, spreadsheet pioneerBizNet Software, which makes business intelligence applications, is holding its first Annual Excel User Conference - Excelapalooza. Gosh, if it could get even 1 percent of all Excel users. Well, maybe that isn't the idea. But the company made it interesting in getting the grandfather of the computer spreadsheet business, Dan Bricklin, as its keynote speaker.
Founder and president consulting firm, Software Garden, Bricklin is a bit better known as the inventor of VisiCalc, the pioneer spreadsheet. Of course, the younger generation of readers is going, "You mean people used something other than Excel?" (And yeah, there was once a database before Access. Ask your grandparents.) The event will be held October 28 to 30 at the Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas, Texas. And no conference would be complete without a K2 Enterprises speaker. In this case, there are two, Lawrence A. "Mac" McClelland and Christopher A. Whitfield. There topic is "Excel Instruction, the Never Ending Fountain of K2 Business". It could be. They do teach an awful lot of classes on the subject. And there will be, what else, Excel tips and tricks provided by the experts. There will be a trivia challenge with questions such as "What was CP/M?" and "Who was Mitch Kapoor?" and "What was the name of Esther Dyson's newsletter?"(Not really).
