SAGE SETS BUSY RELEASE SCHEDULE

Laurie SchultzSage North America has a series of product upgrades stacked up on the calendar over the next three months. Beyond simply enhancing its major ERP products, the company is also carrying out some past promises of offering ancillary modules with similar functions across all the lines.


On the roll out schedule is MAS 500 7.3 for this month; Accpac 5.6 in December, MAS 90 5.4 in January and a new version of X3 ERP manufacturing application, also in January. The MAS and Accpac lines are getting a common business intelligence module, an engine built by Alchemex which will be embedded in all, and also a new financial report writer, based on an existing Accpac tool. The latter is making up for Microsoft's decision to drop FRx. There are also plans for common payroll and payment processing modules. Meanwhile, Accpac is getting positioned more clearly up market for 25 users or more to separate it more from MAS. Also coming in June is a SQL database for MAS 200. There has been a MAS 200 SQL, but the company admits that the product was not one of its more successful efforts.
