SAGE RV ROLLS ALONG Featured

Brad Smith, SageSage North America executives have been rotating in and out of the Sagemobile as they head across the country in the 50-day Sage Listens RV Relay. While Sage is setting out to show the channel and customers that it cares, something else occurred to me. As I entered the ballroom at the Westminster Hotel in Livingston, N.J. – home town of Sage VAR SWK Technologies – it struck me how few people there were from Sage that I know because of the turnover in the last two years.

And perhaps this is most important reason for the transcontinental trip that plateaus for a week at the Gaylord National Harbor in Washington D.C. for the Summit conference next week. It's a chance to get reacquainted for a lot of people. There were two VPs on this leg. Joe Langner, EVP of mid-market solutions, has been with the company since October 2011. Brad Smith, EVP of customer experience, joined in July 2012. I knew I had met Langner, but could not remember if I had met Smith. When I saw them I thought, “They look familiar.” This is not the company that many of us knew well back when we could easily identify most of the executive team. But then again, the name Sage still isn’t one that a lot of buyers can identify so the insiders are on a par with the buyers and prospects. Smith talked about the larger number of media interviews he has endured since the start of the venture, since leaving Charlotte, N.C. on July 10 and hitting Boston on July 15. It’s certainly got to help.
