Joe Langner, SageSage is taking Sage Business Care, its customer service effort, in house at the end of September. In a letter to the channel, Joe Langner, EVP of midmarket solutions, said that while the third-party provider, ServiceSource International “has done a good job over the past several years, we believe that bringing renewals in-house will provide significant benefits to partners, customers, and Sage.”

Langner wrote that the new arrangement would give customers points of contact, a more consistency, higher-quality customer experience, the identification of new leads and revenue opportunities and more security annuity revenue. Resellers get a new Business Care Representative by product line. Customers with August through November renewal dates still deal with SSI sales reps while those renewing after December 1 start using Sage sales reps. Sage will start making renewal calls on September 23.
