MICROSOFT ACQUIRES PARATURE Featured

Bob Stutz, MicrosoftMicrosoft has acquired Parature, a cloud company whose products offer customer self-service capabilities for use by midsize and enterprise organizations. Terms were not disclosed. Microsoft described Parature products as being complementary to Dynamics CRM. The flagship product in the deal, Parature Customer Service Software, integrates a customer portal, self-service knowledgebase, a help desk ticketing application, and a variety of business modules into a central, customizable, web-based system.

Bob Stutz, corporate VP for Dynamics CRM, wrote this week in a blog that "The addition of Parature's cloud service solutions not only strengthens the Microsoft Dynamics CRM offering, but also accelerates our efforts to deliver differentiated customer care capabilities." Founded in 2000, Parature, which had raised $29.5 million in venture funding, last year introduced Parature for Mobile and the Parature Social Monitor. The company says its named user pricing is based on the number of agents within an organization who will be using Parature's centralized solution.
