INTUIT'S WARD LEAVING COMPANY Featured

Jill Ward, Intuit The second long-term veteran of Intuit's accounting program is leaving the tax and accounting software company. Jill Ward, SVP of the Accounting Professionals Division, is exiting in March to return to be near her family in Boston, Mass. Ward joined Intuit in 2001 as the VP and general manager of the company's QuickBase operations. Her announcement follows last month's retirement of Rich Walker, who had served as the company's director of global accountant strategy and programs since August 2012 and had been with Intuit for 15 years.

Intuit has been remaking its CPA effort in the last few months under a team formed under former CCH-er Ray Barlow. Ward will be replaced by Jim McGinnis, who joined Intuit in 2010 as VP of the Accounting Professionals Division. McGinnis brings a strong background in international operations at a time when Intuit is trying to establish a significant presence outside the United States. McGinnis has been responsible for the ProAdvisor Program worldwide, the Intuit Accountant Advisory Council what a letter from Ward termed "many of our efforts in professional tax and accounting." While with Proctor & Gamble, McGinnis, he led the introduction of Tide detergent in China and he was later marketing director for P&G's Argentinean operations. At Pepsico, he was with that company's Smiths Snackfood Australia
