SON OF STAMPEDE IN WORKS Featured

Pam Misialek, Microsoft Microsoft has planned a new conference for its Dynamics software channel. As described, the event would be held November 7 through 11 and would combine the attributes of the former Stampede conference originated by Great Plains and the Microsoft Technical Airlifts. And it would be held in Fargo. Fargo in November? Bring dogs and a parka. The event is being planned, or at least promoted, by product manager, Pam Misialek, who handles Microsoft's Inside Microsoft Dynamics GP blog.

Misialek recently described the plan this way on the blog: "That's right we are going to have a fall event that will have a sales/marketing track plus the consulting developer track that was airlift. It will be like Stampede but also have the technical conference elements." This would be a good way to ensure that resellers have a partner conference that they can attend since about the only reason Dynamics resellers attend Microsoft's Worldwide Partner Conference is to pick up awards and be politically correct with Microsoft. Misialek is looking for a name for the conference. The November dates appear to stem from the lead time involved in planning a new event in a relatively short time. "In future years, we plan to go back to September," Misialek wrote. Maybe they can invite former Great Plains president Doug Burgum to give a speech on some topic unrelated to software. He never got around to my proposed subject of the Conquistador, Cabeza de Vaca. There was no word on how much alcohol will be available.
