WPC SESSIONS SUFFER FROM ANEMIA Featured

MicrosoftIt's been years since I've attended Microsoft's Worldwide Partner Conference. And after looking at the course agenda, the company has not come up with reasons to lure me back when the conference is held in Washington D.C. in mid-July There are 58 courses listed online So there's a partner day for the Dynamics crew. But as one top VAR said it's "So thin I am not attending! Don't hold your breath for content on partner day!"

The sessions are primarily about the mega trends-social media, mobile and Windows. There wee two that mentioned the Dynamics financial packages and another two listed CRM in the synopsis. Some others might be of interest, but they are not specifically pitched at the Dynamics market and there are a enough attendees at this show that about anything ought to draw a crowd but for Dynamics VARs, the major reason to go is to pick up awards and obviously that isn't a large number. Let's repeat what's been obvious since the first show (and a great party) in New Orleans in 2003—the classic VARs and the Dynamics VARS do not have much in common. Microsoft should have gone forward with the proposal for a show in Fargo, N.D., in the fall this year. Readers may remember that one was prematurely announced on some Microsoft blogs and hasn't seen the light of day since. Guess I won't be hitting the "Justify Your Trip" button on the WPC registration page.
