AVALARA BUYS ZYTAX APPLICATIONS Featured

AvalaraAvalara has acquired the Zytax line of energy-related tax applications for the United States and international jurisdictions. Terms were not disclosed. The Bainbridge Island, Wash.-based sales tax vendor purchased the product line from FuelQuest, which makes cloud-based software and services for what are termed global downstream energy companies. There are three Zytax SaaS products that cover the fuel excise tax arena.

These include Zytax Compliance, which determines applicable taxes, generating schedules and returns for all major reporting jurisdictions in the United States. The system tracks workflow status and displays it in a dashboard. Returns can be filed electronically via formats such as EDI, XML and Excel, or by paper. Zytax Determination calculates taxes for a broad range of fuel transactions, including invoices, purchase orders, sales orders, or movement accruals while Zytax Government is designed to handle fuel revenue collections for government agencies.
