BLACKBAUD TO DRAW CLEARER ROAD MAP Featured

Mike Gianoni, BlackbaudBlackbaud CEO Mike Gianoni this week promised the nonprofit software company will provide a clearer picture of its product plans. "We haven't been clear with our product acquisition and road map. You will see we will be very clear on what the portfolio looks like as go forward," Gianoni said in a presentation at the Evercore Vertical Cloud Symposium. The head of the Charleston, S.C.,-based company also dropped more nuggets about its plan to have payments and analytics capabilities available throughout its product line.

Gianoni said that in terms of its Raisers Edge fundraising package "payments and analytics will just show up in the product. They [users] can click and purchase these from inside the product." He also indicated Blackbaud his decided on which countries it will target and noted that "We have hired some engineers who spent a long time internationalizing products." He described international plans as involving about six countries, but did not provide specifics. Gianoni's comments about acquisition focused on simplifying the number of internal systems, such as getting down to one marketing system, as being very important in moving forward with plans for tuck-in acquisitions. He said Blackbaud has 14 percent fewer software platforms in house than it did a year ago.
