SAGE TO HOLD X3 GLOBAL LAUNCH
It was somewhat surprising that Sage has announced a global launch of X3, since the product has been in multiple countries for several years, considering that it originated in France. But Sage says there's not been a global launch before.
And besides, this is one of the products that Sage announced as a worldwide product at last year's Insights reseller conference. It's signing up a limited number of resellers--to date that includes Software Link and Blytheco. The product is aimed at roughly the same market as Epicor and Dynamics AX. The live event will be held on January 20 in Paris as Sage ERP X3 Version 6 hits the market. (Obviously, these names are not invented with headline writers in mind.) The event starts with Sage Group CEO Paul Walker providing an address regarding midmarket global strategy and positioning with those topics then broken down by execs from Sage North America and Sage France who will discuss marketing, market strategy and product strategy. I suppose holding a global launch on Version 6 is a way of saying the product is critical to Sage and it's not that well known.
