STUDER’S MOVE CONFIRMED Featured

Fred Studer, NetSuiteLast week's report that Fred Studer, GM of Microsoft Dynamics since May 2011, has moved to NetSuite to become chief marketing officer has been confirmed. Studer updated his LinkedIn page to reflect the new job. And NetSuite issued a press release in which NetSuite CEO Zach Nelson termed him a marketer with "creative and innovative flair. Tweets last week showed dismay from many. One prominent reseller emailed this comment: "This is horrible news.

Fred was a GREAT talent. Well liked and respected. A true genius." In his final duties, Studer "led product marketing, go-to-market strategy and execution for Microsoft Dynamics CRM" and at one time and responsibility for the four ERP packages. He had worked at Microsoft since September 2012 and spent 12 years before that at Oracle and apparently got there when Oracle purchased JD Edwards after his two years there. NetSuite is a nice place for an Oracle alum. Sort of like being called home by the mothership. Microsoft has become a great source of talent—witness Stijn Hendrikse and Jon Roskill who went to executive positions at Acumatica (Hendrikse is now at a sister company) and Quentin Clark as chief technology officer of SAP.
