RANDOM THOUGHTS: TOM BRADY

Tom Brady, New England PatriotsAn AllState insurance agent phoned me at home and after playing coy when I said, "Who's calling?" he replied "It's your lucky day." "We'll it's certainly not yours. You're not in very good hands," I said as I hung up the phone. ... Just got a jury duty notice. I know how to keep from being empanelled on a particular case. Just keep yelling, "Hang him."

"He was only arrested for trespassing." "Hang him higher." .... The Super Bowl is Sunday. If New England quarterback Tom Brady sees his shadow, we get six more weeks of football. Wait, that doesn't sound right. Of course, this year, no one will want to miss the pregame weighing of the balls. ... Because next year is Super Bowl L, we can expect the pregame show to start on Labor Day, right as the Christmas decorations go up in the stores.  An educational effort will be needed in Roman numerals to teach many viewers what "L" means. "L? They're having a football game for ladies?" ... It's always dangerous to butt into conversations. When I asked the guy next to me on the plane, "Oh, you said you are into open source?" "No, I said I had an open sore." ... It's gotten to the point when people see a headline "Miley Cyrus Goes Topless", they say, "So?" Of course, most of Europe has been saying that all along. ... Weather news observers agree that this year's Juno blizzard, which did not hit as wide an area as expected, produced the highest-word-to-snow ratio in the history of weather casting. People were seeking shelter from nonstop broadcast of maps. "Talk, talk, talk. I thought I was safe when I went to a rerun channel. But it wouldn't end," said one terrified woman. "The only way I could get any relief was to watch PBS."
