Kim Eaton, ApteanAptean has entered the healthcare industry with its purchase of Medworxx Solutions, which markets clinical patient flow, compliance and education application. Its customer base is described as more than 350 hospitals in countries, including Canada, France, the United States and the United Kingdom. Medworxx's flagship product, Patient Flow, helps hospital with bed utilization, by providing a standardized, evidenced-based clinical criteria systems.

The Patient Flow platform includes three operational elements— Clinical Criteria, Forms and Assessments, Bed Management—which combine provide real-time analytics that assist with addressing patient throughput and capacity management challenges. Medworxx, founded in 2004, also provides hospitals learning management and document management tools to help support healthcare requirements in compliance and education. "The mission-critical software Medworxx provides to hospitals fits well with our strategy of providing our customers with vertically-focused, valuable, and trusted technology solutions," Aptean CEO Kim Eaton said in a prepared statement.
