And you are going to be in intolerable conditions, surrounded by hostile people." "Going on a safari," a guy next to me asked. "No, I have a middle seat on a transcontinental flight."

... You know most things are like riding bicycle—once you fall off, you never forget how. ... There apparently is a Las Vegas version of Monopoly. Of course, there are some differences from the classic Atlantic City, N.J.-based game, especially in the "Chance" cards: "Hooker steals your wallet; pay $500", "Wife catches you with pole dancer named Dusty Valley; pay lawyer $900.... While at the Cosmopolitan Casino I ran into a young man coming down in the elevator about 7:30 am with a young lady with high heels, tight jeans and amply overflowing bodice. Always nice to see the locals making visitors feel so welcome. .. You know you're in Vegas when: you pay $4.86 plus tip for a cup of tea. You walk 15 minutes to cross the street because of the placement of foot bridges. You get a card from some woman promoting the "Orgasm Clinic". ... Denny's on Las Vegas Boulevard was previously a small restaurant on the ground level opposite the Mirage. It now occupies a much-larger facility on a second floor—above a White Castle. I also now has a wedding chapel. For $199, you can have the weekend special, the Grand Slam wedding.
