KELLY'S BLOG: U.K. ONLY THOUGHTS Featured

Steve Kelly, Sage Sage CEO Steve Kelly has done a relatively good job feeding his blog on the company's global website. But if he was trying to demonstrate thought leadership throughout the company—well, he really isn't trying has. This is a blog about topics of interest in the United Kingdom. So he was written about Brexit, the new prime minister and corporation tax

Even the headline on the blog about Summit was, totally Brit: Gwyneth Paltrow, a Govt Minister & Pokemon Go: thank you for the biggest Sage Summit, ever! And the most recent blog is: All talk, now action: from the Commons to G20, leaders must take a stand for entrepreneurs." Well, maybe he is writing about subjects he understands and wisely avoiding those about which he knows little—like the United States? That's question, not a charge. But if the company wants to have thought leaders it should provide some here. Right now, Sage is showing a very insular attitude. Except for Jennifer Warawa, people with "global" in their total lived outside North America. The company canned its North American PR team, which did a decent job, and replaced it with an agency as contacts—for all other countries on the Sage website, there's a person as a contact. It has done nothing to promote or follow up Summit announcements. Press releases are going on the corporate site, not on the American. Sage didn't even make an effort to highlight the September hiring of Blair Crump as president—and he was stationed in the New York area. Moreover, I've noted the company did not translate British English to American English in recent releases. I suppose at the series of mini Summits in 2017 Sage will drop coffee and serve tea and scones (which I prefer.)
