ACCOUNTMATE LAN GOING ANOTHER ROUND
Sometimes old products show more life than their makers ever envisioned; think Sage's seemingly immortal DacEasy. AccountMate is encountering the same phenomenon with its AccountMate LAN product. AccountMate CEO David Dierke said the company was examining the product, thinking it might have run its course. Instead he found, "In the last seven months the sales of LAN product have increased. It wouldn’t be a good business decision."
He also found the number of seats being purchased higher than he would have suspected with the average "surpassing nine" and one installation going for 21 seats. At that level, Dierke said, users should be looking at AccountMate SQL. However, sometime next year there will be a Version 8 of the LAN product "and then we'll take another look at it," he continued.
