Jim McGeever, Oracle NetSuiteOracle plans a significant expansion for what it calls the Oracle NetSuite Global Business Unit. The company plans to double the number of data centers globally to 11 from five. This includes adding a fourth North American Data Center in the Chicago, Ill., area.

NetSuite VP Jim McGeever said at this week's SuiteWorld conference that growth will occur "As soon as possible. The ops team has been given the budget. They’ve been given the green light." Part of this will be accomplished via the use of existing Oracle data centers in Europe and Asia, along with plans to open NetSuite centers in Frankfort, Germany; and Australia, Singapore, Japan and China. Plans are also to have NetSuite field offices in 23 countries up from the current 10. NetSuite will also utilize Oracle development centers in India, China and Japan. McGeever also said there will significant staff growth. “We will hire more people in 2018 than we had total employees in 2012,” McGeever said.
