CEO BJÖRK LEAVES QLIK Featured

Lars Björk, QlikCEO Lars Björk, has left analytical software vendor Qlik. That is 14 months after the Radnor, Pa.-based company was acquired equity firm Thoma Bravo for about $3 billion in cash. The owners thanked the executive but did not even say he was pursuing other interests.

Björk joined the company in 2000 as CFO and then in 2006 served 13 months as COO. He became CEO in October 2007. David Murphy, a Qlik board member and Thoma Bravo operating partner, is serving as interim CEO until a replacement is found. In a November interview, Henry Erickson, a junior analyst at the Erickson Group, suggested that Qlik had lagged competitors in moving to the cloud. Björk responded, "I don't think we have lagged behind the actual market." He said all players in the space are having trouble and noted the only change under the new owners at that point had been a small layoff that primarily impacted the back office.
