CANNABIS GROUP DOES BLOCKCHAIN Featured

Isaac Dietrich, MassRoots MassRoots, a platform for the regulated cannabis industry, is promoting a plan for using blockchain technology. The Denver, Colo.-based company has formed a subsidiary, MassRoots Blockchain Technologies.

“We believe blockchain has the potential to enable the cannabis industry to operate more efficiently, accountability, and with a greater degree of transparency,” MassRoots CEO Isaac Dietrich said in a prepared statement. But it does suggest how blockchain can work. Here are some of the features: Seed-to-Sale Tracking, well, you might not need that where you are; Smart Contracts, which automatically execute when pre-set parameters are met, a more standard capability; Governance—MassRoots is exploring how the technology can be used in proxy voting; and Identity Management, since networks such as MassRoots collect a great deal of user metadata. For example, this could help advertisers better target customers.
