SAPSAP has introduced products that utilize some of the most-talked about new technologies. At its Sapphire conference this week, the software company rolled out products and services that utilize artificial intelligence, machine learning and blockchain.

It is also supporting the development of these tools, including starting a blockchain consortium whose seven founding members include Intel Corp., Hewlett Packard Enterprise and A3 by Airbus. The SAP Cloud Platform Blockchain is described “as a new blockchain as a service enabling enterprises to easily build and extend business solutions with blockchain technologies, such as Hyperledger Fabric and MultiChain.” Among other new entries is SAP Conversational AI for developing intelligent chatbots, a service that features an end-to-end toolkit for training, building and monitoring chatbots. The company’s Leonardo Machine Learning capabilities are now embedded in SAP products, including SAP S/4HANA Cloud, C/4HANA and Ariba. SAP has additionally added five new services to its Leonardo Machine Learning Foundation. These include object detection and text recognition in images and text classification, which analyzes and automatically categorizes text documents. The company has also launched the Leonardo Partner Medallion Initiative for spurring the introduction of embedded industry applications. And the company has made the SAP Cloud Platform available on both the Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure.
