QAD NAMES INSIDER AS CEO Featured

Anton Chilton, QADManufacturing software vendor QAD has named one of its veteran executives, Anton Chilton, as CEO. He succeeds the late Karl Lopker, who died on August 25 after a 13-year battle with stage 4 prostate cancer.

Lopker urged his then-girlfriend and now wife, Pamela, to found the company and then joined in the CEO’s job. She remains are president. Chilton, named to the job last month,  joined QAD in 2004 as services director of the company’s Asia-Pacific region, based in Australia. After serving as managing director of QAD Australia and New Zealand from 2006 through 2009, he transferred to QAD’s headquarters in Santa Barbara, Calif., as SVP of global accounts, serving there through 2011. Starting in June 2015, he became EVP of global services and he was made EVP and chief of global field operations in March 2017. Chilton was hired on December 18 at a base salary of $450,000 per year with total compensation of $900,000 based on his meeting objectives under the company’s bonuses. QAD also granted him 22,000 shares of restricted stock units. The company recommended a grant of 22,000 shares of performance stock units in June.
