DYNAMICS REVS UP 17 PERCENT Featured

Satya Nadella, MicrosoftDynamics revenue continued on a pace of double-digit increases. The product line produced a 17-percent year-over-year rise for the second quarter ended December 31, Microsoft reported this week.

That was spurred by a 51-percent increase in sales of Dynamics 365, and that too is part of the pattern over the last year. The company did not break out Dynamics revenue, but last year, CEO Satya Nadella predicted Dynamics revenue will reach $2.5 billion for the year ending June 30 and that half of that would be from Dynamics 365. The total averages out to $625 million per quarter, and Dynamics 365 would be half of that. Dynamics is part of the Productivity and Business Processes segment, comprised by the Office Commercial, Office Consumer, LinkedIn and Dynamics lines. For the most recently ended quarter, it reported $10.1 billion in revenue on a 13-percent increase from slightly less than $9 billion a year ago. Microsoft registered $8.4 billion in net income for the second quarter, compared to a loss of $6.2 billion in last year’s corresponding period, when it had a $15.5-billion income tax provision. Quarterly revenue was $32.2 billion, a 12.3-percent increase from $28.9 billion a year earlier
