ITA MEETING BOOMS

Without getting into numbers, the last two winter meetings of the Information Technology Alliance have been booming in a time when shows generally have not done well. We're not talking thousands here, but we are talking about a group that I've always thought represented the best and brightest in the intersection of accountants and technology.

Last week's meeting in Palm Springs was notable in that three companies held meetings of their resellers during the event--Sage, Deltek and CCH. That's a good trend for because for a time, the group has been top heavy with Sage VARs. One thing that helped get a better balance was Taylor Macdonald's move from Sage to Deltek and then Promethean. It was the influx of Deltek resellers that I think gave this group some new blood and better balance. And with Macdonald now at Infor, I suspect we'll see some people from that world. I have learned more about this market from ITA shows (and its predecessor Acute) over the years than from any other single source.
