SPEEDTAX GETS INVESTMENT

SpeedTax, a Laguna Hills, Calif.-based vendor of sales-and-use-tax applications, has received a new round of equity funding from private equity firm Committed Capital. SpeedTax, whose products are Internet-based, said this represented the largest equity investment the company has secured, but it has not revealed how much it has received in funding.
SpeedTax CEO Anton Donde issued a statement that funds will be used to build links between SpeedTax products and more e-commerce platforms and ERP packages, along with providing services in the areas of consumer use taxes and reverse audits. The company also intends to continue moving its products into the enterprise-level market and to add staff in key areas.
