QBES CHANNEL CONFLICT HIGH?

QBES BoxIntuit is reportedly selling a lot of units of QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions, but probably not through its reseller channel. And reports continue that dealers can't figure out how to make money with QBES, which has been a theme over the last year. Certainly, it looks like some VARs are sitting on the sideline until Intuit can figure out a way they can co-exist with the direct sales force team.
One noted his operation stopped putting any effort into selling when the direct sales group offered discounts to compete for accounts. Intuit offered a statement in reaction to my inquiry about the issue: “Intuit has discounted QBES through its direct channel and has extended those discounts to Intuit Solution Providers, and some resellers chose to offer QBES at the reduced price. Since business owners are particularly price-sensitive in the current economic conditions, they tend to “shop” all channels. That said, we’ve seen early indicators that ISPs sales also grow with the cross-channel promotional strategy.”
